Welcome Art Lovers

We are delighted you are here. This exhibit is actually a hybrid. The art is on display at Health Brigade as well as here online and features Richmond artist Elizabeth Coffey. If you can’t make it to the opening on Thursday, September 14, make plans to visit Health Brigade to see it at another time. The Art Brigade started in 2016. The goal of this effort has always been to provide a welcoming and healing environment for our patients, clients, volunteers, staff and visitors.  This is our 23rd exhibition. Art Brigade artists graciously give 25% of the cost of any pieces sold to support Health Brigade’s mission.

If you need to have a piece shipped to you, Health Brigade will put you in direct contact with the artist to make arrangements. Shipping cost is not included in the price of the items.

“I’m fascinated by the tension between the seen and the unseen, and its relevance to female identity. I often paint on lace fabric, a symbol of traditional domestic roles and accepted forms of creative expression for women that also serves as a veil to true identity. I learned sewing and needlework at an early age, and enjoy incorporating these traditional art forms, pushing them beyond their intended use. A lifelong love of language has also seeped into my current work.” -Elizabeth Coffey
