Director of Mental Health & Wellness
Dr. Azria-Evans directs the Department of Mental Health & Wellness which includes staff, interns, and over 20 volunteers. She started providing individual and couples counseling at Health Brigade in 2013. She has a B.A. in Psychology, a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies, and a M.S. in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Dr. Azria-Evans is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, a Certified Family Life Educator, and recently became a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She has taught at several Universities and consulted with state agencies including the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Department of Social Services. She is the current Chapter Chair of the Virginia Counseling Association. Her professional interests are varied but include attachment and systems theory and trauma-informed approaches to care. Her current self-care practices include aromatherapy, reading for fun, time with her family, and snuggling with her two dogs.
