Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, Health Brigade has continued to provide exceptional health services for those in need. In fact, Health Brigade has become a transformational leader in the safety-net healthcare space–all while sustaining patient care, addressing community health issues, and keeping our staff safe and engaged.
We have been recognized for this work by several local and national funders who have made significant investments this year in Health Brigade’s mission.
AIDS United – A longtime partner in the fight to educate, prevent, and treat HIV/AIDS, AIDS United awarded Health Brigade $100,000 to fund a full time Vaccination Coordinator and support services. This position will expand vaccine outreach, education, and uptake to those participating in Health Brigade’s Health and Outreach services, syringe exchange, and the community at large.
Direct Relief – Health Brigade received a $250,000 grant from Direct Relief’s Fund for Health Equity. This investment is being used to staff operations and streamline administrative functions such as human resources, finance, and business administration. It is also funding the expansion of our Medical Social Work program which provides the “wrap around” services that many of our patients lack but are essential to their health and well-being.
Virginia Health Care Foundation – VHCF is funding Health Brigade for a second year in the amount of $86,250 to support the staffing of our full time Medical Director and Health Brigade’s tri-lingual Mental Health Counselor.
Please join us in thanking these partners for their transformational gifts!
